Replacing Auto Glass Cracks in Honolulu

I was recently driving along the road here in Hawaii and something came crashing at my auto glass. Seeing as your company is in Hawaii, Honolulu Auto Glass, you understand that the roads here are not always the safest or the cleanest so you really need to be prepared for anything. Luckily, I was completely fine, but my windshield was not okay. I ended up driving away with a large crack on the auto glass. I have read that I need to get it fixed immediately so that is exactly what I plan to do. My question for you though is how do I know if it can simply be repaired or if I need to have the entire piece of auto glass replaced? I just want to be prepared for anything that is thrown my way.
